- Crystal Cartier - Singer-songwriter Cartier came into the local limelight in 1994 when she forced Michael Jackson to come to federal court in Denver charging that he misappropriated the words to the song Dangerous from her. She lost the suit but filed an appeal.
- Neal Cassady - Generations ago beat-pack icon Cassady was very much the local color in neighborhoods like Curtis Park, upper Larimer Street, and Capitol Hill. Some of his pastimes included joyriding in stolen cars and getting high on speed. He also dabbled with heroin. Famed Beat writer and transplanted local resident Jack Kerouac proclaimed Neal to be "the writer of the century." Cassady published one novel. It's called The First Third. Kerouac's endorsement of Neal's writing ability was made in a letter to Kerouac's best friend, Denver architect Ed White. The letter was kept private for many years until White finally allowed Ed Ward to publish it for the first time in the early 1980s. It appears in Passion Press, issue four. Neal did a stretch at the Colorado State Reformatory for borrowing cars without permission. Decades ago Cassady and his love Carolyn Robinson lived in the building now known as the Colburn Hotel apartments at 980 Grant Street around the time they met.

- Joe Cocker <Cocker.com> - Famed UK singer of the late 60s, early 70s, Joe Cocker lives somewhere on the western slopes of Colorado in a small town. He "came in through the bathroom window." (Deatails later)
- "Buffalo" Bill Cody - In the early history of Denver Bill Cody was famed for his Wild West Show which, to the beast of my knowledge, was some sort of rodeo opera.. It glamorized paleface ways for better or for worse. Bill is buried up there on Lookout Mountain with all those antennas overlooking the big city under the brown cloud.

- Judy Collins <JudyCollins.com>
born: 1939 May 1, Seattle, Washington
Former Denverite and five time Grammy winner Judy Collins is a singer, songwriter, human rights activist, author and actress who hit fame on the midwest folk circuit in the 1960s. She grew up mainly on Capitol Hill in Denver. Her recording career began in 1961 in Greenwhich Village, New York City. She was closely associated with Bob Dylan whose career had at least three parallels including a career start in Greenwhich Village, the writing and performance of social protest folk songs and residency on Capitol Hill. Collins attended East High School and did some of her singing at the Satire Lounge at Colfax Avenue and Race St. She began taking interest in folk music while attending the University of Colorado. This editor fondly recalls a few songs of Judy Collins, some of which are forever ringing in my head from the early 1970s including Someday Soon (1969), Turn Turn Turn (1969), Chelsea Morning (1969), Amazing Grace (1970) and Send In the Clowns (1975). Her father was a Denver radio personality.
