- Jason Eklund - Folk musician Jason Eklund is said to be on the cutting edge of the twisted irreverent metaphor in a style that rivals predecessors Bob Dylan, Pete Seger, Woody and Arlo Guthrie. Jason lived and performed in Evergreen and did Denver for about a year. After playing a lot of street corners he was endeared to the ears of Marilyn Megenity during an open stage performance at the Merc around 1992. Shortly thereafter Eklund was determined to sign a contract with premier folk label Flying Fish Records. He stood on a corner singing and playing guitar near Fish headquarters. It was almost the identical ploy that Elvis Costello used with a different label long ago. Once again the ploy worked and Jason was signed. He now plays all the major folk festivals. He has written hundreds of songs. Ed Ward tells CAN that Eklund is the best songwriter, "better than Dylan." Jason hails from Indiana. This editor hopes to catch Jason's act soon.

- Elvira (aka: Cassandra Peterson)
/film host; actress
That seductive curvaceous actress and film host Elvira was once a plain jane named Cassandra Peterson who grew up in the Colorado Springs area. I believe I've also seen her on celluloid or was that IN celluloid?
