Actress Joan Van Ark of Knots Landing television fame grew up in Boulder. Van Ark has acted in many television films and has made appearances in "Dallas", Days of Our Lives, The Nanny, Cybill, Touched by an Angel, The Rockford Files and other shows. Aging Boulder ex-dopers might recall her kinfolk known affectionately as 'Van-Narc', a Boulder narcotics detective hated by vagabond hippy street dopers on University Hill in the early 1970s. Seems I recall that another Van Ark sibling was discovered growing something green and herbaceous in a greenhouse east of Boulder around the early 1980s.
