Comedy Arts

Some of America's leading comics have had a Denver connection including The Smothers Brothers. History has it that Tom or Dick Smothers long ago lived in the apartment above the Satire Lounge (1920 E. Colfax Ave.) and at 17th & Williams on Capitol Hill before being discovered clowning around a pool table downstairs in the bar. Read about them along with Roseanne, Bill Murray, Tim Allen, Sinbad, and Gary Coleman starting at the Cowtown Hall of Fame.

• Chicken Lips - Founded in 1980
  Denver's oldest improv comedy troupe.
  Last heard Chickn Lips was looking for new digs after losing it's Market Street space. In the meantime they are still doing private and corporate performances, under the name LipService. They formerly performed public engagements under the name Lipschtick and plan to update CAN info shortly. Chicken Lips is an operative of Bob wells.
