- Francis George - The works of Francis George center on thoughtful and physical expressions especially young amateur and professional female fashion models. He did a lot of work for Icon magazine locally and for Uzi driveby fashions as well as much corporate work. He has long been a favorite, a master of composition and lighting. He hails from France. Unfortunately Francis appears to have headed for either Las Vegas or New Jersey, or both. He was rumored to be longing for the gotham landscape of New York City.

- Sean Hartgrove <SeanHartgrove.com> - also <Netherworld.com/~ex-68>
Back in 1994 I caught some of Sean's work in the May June edition of The Invisible Sun, a local Denver arts magazine. The content might be quite ordinary under ordinary circumstances, but came off somewhat surreal and timeless by nature of its posturing of subjects, overall setting and excellent lighting. The subjects were nudes, some females in pairs and a male. Good communication was also evident. More recently Sean has done well in fetish and taboo photography as his excellent web sites will attest.

- Mondo Models <MondoModels.com> - (new) the Rocky Mountain region's first model image catalog dedicated mainly to non-mainstream models and acting talent. The Mondo Models focus is on counterculture lifestyle and taboo style artistry, the obscure underground, and models traditionally ignored and under-represented by Madison Avenue. Photography is personally executed by exquisitely talented photographer Agent Mondo. Free portfolios are provided to qualified models who are either attractive or outright ugly in a beautiful way so long as they have unusual photogenic talent. Mondo themes include surrealism, dream state, art "criminals", art romantics, erotic in nature and outdoor urban environments, retro (20s-60s), high-art goth & fetish (not the usual dull stuff), theatrical talent and thrift shop supermodels. Most Mondo Models photography is done on locations that are public but often hidden from view including cemeteries, unusual hotel interiors, rooftops, industrial ruins, the Denver boondocks, local landmarks, railroad trestles, lush public & private gardens, unauthorized furniture store boudoirs and the mondo home & garden studio. Agent Mondo's personal image philosophy is a rebuke of conventional ready-made counterculture in favor of a unique surrealist dynamic experimentation. The Mondo mission is a war against the emptiness and vapid falsehoods of a materialist consumer society and all its self-absorbed emotion and boredom in favor of artistic theatrical mischief.

statement: "Wendi Schneider is a fine art, editorial and commercial photographer and web designer based in Denver. She is most known for her sensual and timeless images of nudes, flowers and architectural details, including hand-painted photographs, archival digital prints and Polaroid transfers. She began photographing models as reference for her figurative oil paintings in New Orleans in the mid-80s and was enamoured with the medium. She moved to New York in the late 80s, where she photographed book jackets and covers for most of the major book publishers and was a major contributor to Hearst's Victoria Magazine, among other clients."
Misha Secore - Misha's work puts a humanist bent on her feminine subjects. I was first struck by an exuberant picture she composed of a young nude woman dancing like a self affirmed goddess against the open skyline of downtown Denver. It appeared on the cover of Hip Ink, a local magazine. The runway turned out to be the rooftop of the Mercury Cafe.

Contact: Inna Valin,
POB 481983,
Denver, CO 80248 |
Inna Valin is an artist whose medium is fine art photography. Her works are hand colored silver gelatin prints.
Using herself as model Valin creates works that reflect supernatural and bucolic themes. Prevalent in her latest work is an examination of animal archetypes and their respective roles in the human psyche. As mankind's earliest religions reflect animal worship, this was one of the first steps in the creation and worship of a protective deity, a god. If we examine our world today we can see that the animal as symbol plays a role just as strong as it did thousands of years ago. Valin is inspired by her personal experiences, instincts, and literary reference in the creation of her works.
|
Inna valin has received several artist awards including juror's award from Denver Art Museum curators and the 1998 McKnight Foundation Artist Fellowship for Photographers. In Denver Valin's work may be seen at Camera Obscura Gallery (13th & Bannock, Denver).
